Proporta Working On New Apple iPad Cases

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

No sooner than one day after I speculated that Proporta would be working on an aluminium reinforced case for the iPad they sent me an email confirming exactly that. They’ve added a spate of products to their iPad lineup, including 3 iPad cases. The Aluminium Lined Apple iPad Case from Proporta is a sure-fire winner and, for once, is going to be made from real leather.

Acer Tempo Smartphone Offers At Expansys

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

acer_tempo.jpg

If you’re getting bored of the omnipresent HTC-brand smart-phones and want something fresh, new, and arguable pretty damned good looking then now is a good chance to pick yourself up an Acer Tempo from Expansys. Three of Acers Tempo phones are on sale with savings of up to £80 against their usually very-hard-to-stomach SIM-free retail prices.

As any seasoned smart-phone owner will know, the only way to stay ahead of the curve is to go SIM-free and, instead of waiting for your upgrade eligibility, fund your phone upgrades with a bit of ebay action.

See over the fold for the offers.

Qstik EVOQ Bluetooth Headset Review

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

You can pick up a tolerably good Bluetooth headset right now for just £9.95 and not only make yourself look like a cyborg with the daringly shaped ear-piece but connect the supplied stereo earbuds and rock out to your music from an A2DP compatible phone.

I’m referring to the Qstik EVOQ Bluetooth Headset which has received plentuy of positive feedback, and it’s not difficult to see why. The EVOQ is a flexible bluetooth headset which can go from being a (slightly ugly) ear-piece to affixing to your car dashboard as an in-car hands-free system or sitting in your pocket piping tunes to your ears via bluetooth A2DP and the supplied earbuds.

Krusell HTC Touch Pro Orbit Flex Leather Case

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

I find Krusell cases to be somewhat of a mixed bag, on one hand their comparatively low prices make them an excellent choice for the less affluent leather fan, on the other hand this low price is very clearly reflected in the finish the cases. The finish, which tends to not quite reach the lofty standards and consistency set by the likes of Piel Frama or Sena, is still good at a glance however and is also more than made up for with the odd feature that you’ll not find on competing, premium leather cases.

The Krusell HTC Touch Pro Orbit Flex case is no exception to this rule, it’s a little rough around the edges and plays host to some decidedly inconsistent stitching and some other almost unnoticeable but poor aspects of its overall finish.

Proporta Gadget Bag Reviewed

Friday, December 12th, 2008

Every now and then you need some extensive on the road entertainment and might want to carry a PSP, DS, portable media player, camera, GPS, and a wealth of other gadgets on your person.

You can tuck them haphazardly into a laptop bag, shoulder bag, carrier bag or a burlap sack but all of those would be less than ideal, particularly if some of your precious gadgets lack individual cases.

Proporta have the solution in the form of the aptly named “Gadget Bag” which is, as you might have guessed, a bag for all of your gadgets.

Microsoft Xmas Showcase 2008

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

image by gaygamer.netYou may, or may not, have noticed that we’re getting fairly close to that most wonderful time of the year, when radio stations start playing Mistletoe & Wine, scarf and gloves become a daily necessity and mince pies are back on the supermarket shelves.

It’s also a time of the year where a fiercely drawn out competition takes place on both the real and virtual high street between the manufacturers of toys, games and other technology wonders.

The Gadgetoid team was kindly invited down to the St Martins Lane Hotel, London to get a hands-on look at some of Microsofts games and gadgets that will be available in stores in time for christmas. Follow the jump for our thoughts about the New Xbox Experience, Live Mesh and more…

Piel Frama HTC Touch Pro Case

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Update: You can now grab the durable aluminium lined leather HTC Touch Pro case or vibrant Maya HTC Touch Pro Slip Case from our Proporta.com affiliate store and get a few quid discount.

I’m a big fan of the Maya style in particular, as slip cases are so much less restrictive.

Piel Frama have really pulled out the stops with their leather HTC Touch Pro Case. Which is a shame, because after playing with the Touch Pro itself I am massively underwhelmed and utterly unable to get excited about it. But that’s a whole different story.

If you’ve picked up the HTC Touch Pro and are enjoying its generous specifications, and sexy screen, but are decidedly disappointed with the godawful case it comes bundled with then the Piel Frama HTC Touch Pro case is probably what you’re looking for. It completely blows away the Piel Frama iPhone 3g Case I reviewed recently in terms of fit, finish and functionality and is, without a shadow of a doubt, exceptionally well made.

HTC Touch Pro Hits Expansys At £519

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

The wait is over for those of you who survived the fierce temptation of the iPhone 3g. I didn’t and I find my excitement for the HTC Touch Pro somewhat mitigated as a result, but none-the-less it’s a fanastic example of a Windows Mobile Phone with more oomph than you’ll ever need and more features than you’ll ever find the time to use; I wouldn’t say no to a free one!
