Xbox 360 Price Reduction Doubles Sales

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Who could have seen this one coming!? Microsoft announced today that their recent price adjustment has significantly increased the sales volume of their little-white-console-that-could; the Xbox 360. Now for the love of god and all that is holy Microsoft, please produce a version of the Xbox 360 that doesn’t look embarrassingly like a squashed marshmallow… some of us 360 owners ARE more than 10 years old.

If you have a busy gaming schedule and you want to get the most out of GTA IV in the least amount of time then you’ll be pleased to know that a top notch, fully featured guide will be release the same day as the game itself for a paltry £12.99

For your cash you’ll get 288 pages of game-guide-goodness plus a 10 page foldout all authored by two of the videogames industries most highly respected guide authors, Tim Bogenn and Rick Barbain, in direct collaboration with Rockstar Games.

As you can guess, with that many pages everything is covered in great detail from just game basics, tips and tricks to a complete walkthrough of the game from start to finish. Look out for it when you go to pick up your pre-order!

Xbox 360 Price Slashed From Friday 14th March

Monday, March 10th, 2008

Starting Friday the 14th of March the Xbox 360 prices will be slashed by quite a considerable sum each, could this be indicative of a new model on the way? A Blu-ray enabled Elite would be nice now that the formats dominance is clear as crystal.

The standard Xbox 360 with 20gb hard drive and one wireless controller will now retail at an estimated £199.99, saving £50. The Elite with its 120gb hard drive will drop to £259.99 saving £40 and the hard-drive-less Arcade console will drop to a paltry £159.99 also saving £40.

Now price drops on console are all well and good, but I’d really like to see some cheaper accessories and an HD-DVD price crash. Pleeeaaasse?

Run, Red RAM, Run

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

If you’ve ever stared, misty-eyed through your computer case window at your plain boring old RAM and concluded “Wouldn’t it be awesome if that RAM were red and adorned with flashing lights” then this is your lucky day. Crucial have the answer to your prayers in the form of candy-apple red Ballistix Tracer RAM, not only is it fast but it’s obnoxiously pretty too and takes you one step closer to making the inside of your case finally look like Blackpool at night.

At first I thought this was part of the Product RED movement, but evidently Crucial just want to jump on the band-wagon without actually doing so.

Sennheiser PC 350 Gaming And Communications Headset

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

Sennheiser are very quickly coming round to the popularity of their headsets amongst gamers. With so many PC peripheral companies churning out mediocrity or novelty and claiming it to be the greatest of gaming headsets (Razer, I’m looking at you) having Sennheiser step in and floor the competition with a genuinely high quality product is a breath of fresh air. Albiet at £150 it’s an incredibly expensive one.

Granted, with the Sennheiser brand behind these I’ve assumed that they floor the competition without having experienced them for myself but it’s an easy assumption to make if you’ve had any experience with Sennheiser products in the past. And. Seriously. Look at the things; a build like a brick outhouse must have been part of the design specification.

Anyway, enough of the ranting blurb… I use Roland headphones for all my gaming/audio/tv needs anyway! Check over the fold for specifications.

Two Worlds in Top 10!?

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Okay, so I don’t keep an eye on the charts so I have only myself to blame but nobody but me could be more surprised that Two Worlds make the Xbox 360 Top 10 for a solid month. This can only indicate that the rest of the Xbox 360 lineup during that month was so utterly stagnant and poor that Two Worlds floated leisurely to the top with little competition.
