Sony STR-DG820 AV Reciever
Marking the migration of enthusiast features to a slightly more consumer market the STR-DG820 includes HD Audio decoding and full 1080/24P video support with Deep Colour and x.v. Colour compatibility.
The STR-DG820 will decode Dolby True HD and dts-HD Master Audio, as well as all the legacy Dolby and dts audio formats plus 8 channel Linear PCM output from devices like the PS3. It boasts 4 HDMI inputs and one output which should be enough to hook-up a pretty impressive array of HD devices simultanously.
To keep things simple the STR-DG820 supports auto calibration which involves just hooking up a supplied microphone and hitting a single button; the STR-DG820 will then tune itself to get the most out of your speaker set up.
An added Sony DM port can also host a range of modular adaptors including connectors for iPod, Walkman Phone/mp3 Players and Bluetooth or even Wifi support.
