30GB Archos 605 Plus GPS For £299.99

Archos have quickly redeemed themselves from the lacklustre, dare I say failure, of the TV Plus and turned back to what they’re good at; all things portable.

But this time it’s not a new, sleeker, better model of their acclaimed multi-media players that they’re touting, but rather a GPS add-on for the Archos 605 Wifi that is set to retail at £99.

£99 is a good and bad price depending on how you look at it, consider you can get a TomTom for little more than that but on the flip side the GPS windscreen mount for the Archos also gives you connectivity to your car audio system delivering all the audio and video goodness you really shouldn’t be engrossed in whilst driving.

At £300 for the whole package there’s really no contesting that the Archos in terms of functionality and value really hands it to every other GPS on the market, but how good the GPS functionality and software is remains to be seen.
