30GB Archos 605 Plus GPS For £299.99

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Archos have quickly redeemed themselves from the lackluster, dare I say failure, of the TV Plus and turned back to what they’re good at; all things portable.

But this time it’s not a new, sleeker, better model of their acclaimed multi-media players that they’re touting, but rather a GPS addon for the Archos 605 Wifi that is set to retail at £99.

Xbox 360 Price Reduction Doubles Sales

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Who could have seen this one coming!? Microsoft announced today that their recent price adjustment has significantly increased the sales volume of their little-white-console-that-could; the Xbox 360. Now for the love of god and all that is holy Microsoft, please produce a version of the Xbox 360 that doesn’t look embarrassingly like a squashed marshmallow… some of us 360 owners ARE more than 10 years old.

Fun With XNA 2.0

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

In the last couple of days I’ve finally found myself sucked into the Xbox 360 indie game development haven dubbed the XNA Creators’ Club.

XNA is a framework developed by Microsoft to be used in conjunction with the C# programming language; it’s extremely easy to get to grips with and mind-blowingly simple to debug and run applications on an Xbox 360 using the Connect application that establishes a connection in a similar way to Windows Media Center.

The Razer Rip-Off Extravaganza

Monday, April 7th, 2008

Since looking at the TerraTec Headset Master and the Razer Barracuda Headset I have been investigating just what makes these products not only similar but almost identical in some design aspects.

With no real clue which product came first it was difficult for me to make any accusations against either TerraTec or Razer for blatantly ripping off the others product.

Turning Point: Fall of Liberty - Xbox 360

Friday, April 4th, 2008

Turning Point Box ArtReview by Johnus Maximus

Released in March for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty is a story driven World War 2 first person shooter.

The game is developed by Spark Unlimited, and published by Codemasters and promises to offer both wartime authenticity and a fresh perspective on the genre. Sadly, it fails.

Imagine now, if you can, a series of remarkable events taking place in the past which changed the outcome of WW2 and ultimately lead to the Nazi invasion of the United States of America. Sounds like a nightmare, right? Well for Dan Carson, an average New York construction worker, this nightmare becomes a reality, and he’s faced with the daunting prospect of single-handedly taking down an immeasurable number of well armed and motivated Nazi soldiers, blowing up the White House and its recently installed Nazi president and as if that’s not enough, he also has to destroy an Atomic bomb before it can be dropped on his home soil!
