Cyborg R.A.T. Mobile Gaming Mouse Reviewed

Wednesday, May 29th, 2013

Whew. It’s been a long time since I reviewed a gaming mouse, and even longer since I reviewed a mobile mouse. The Cyborg, no, wait, MadCatz R.A.T. “M” ( M standing for Mobile if you hadn’t guessed ) tries to be both of these, and doesn’t do a bad job of either.

Alienware X51 Samsung 840 Pro SSD Upgrade

Monday, March 4th, 2013

The Alienware X51 is a fantastic, compact gaming rig which I gushed about in my review. I also mentioned plans to upgrade it with a much-needed SSD. These plans have now come to fruition, and my X51 contains a 256GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD. One would expect Samsung to produce a good quality solid-state disc, […]

Alienware X51 Ultra Compact Gaming PC

Monday, February 4th, 2013

It’s been a good 5 years, if not more, since I purchased a gaming PC. Preferring instead consoles, or whatever Mac gaming I can cobble together. I have spent a great many of these years toying with the idea of buying or building a gaming PC, but it wasn’t until catching wind of the Alienware […]

SteelSeries Kana Mouse Review

Saturday, February 4th, 2012

Taking a step up from the Kinzu the SteelSeries Kana is the middle-ground of SteelSeries gaming mice, representing the balance of price and features that will suit most gamers. Dubbed “The Middle Child” by SteelSeries themselves, the Kana is positioned in between the Sensei and Kinzu in both physical size and features. The Kana is […]

SteelSeries Kinzu V2 Mouse Review

Saturday, February 4th, 2012

Gaming mice are great, but they’re called gaming mice for a reason. They’re geared heavily towards gaming, tend to be bristling with buttons and are often quite bulky and not overly suited to a family computer. As us gamers grow up we have to face the fact that our gaming rigs of yore and old […]

Gaming On The 11″ MacBook Air

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

Perhaps the most common question asked about the MacBook Air is: “How does it handle gaming?” With the Air now representing the entry-level of Apple laptops it’s no surprise that prospective buyers would be interested in how it handles games. Gaming on the Mac is still in its infancy, but there are plenty of titles […]

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Xbox 360 review

Sunday, September 18th, 2011

Review by John Cranston “In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war” is the strap-line that describes life in the 41st millennium. Humanity, having expanded across the galaxy, faces destruction not only from within, but also against nightmarish and brutal aliens. In Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, a third person shooter developed […]

SteelSeries NP+ Gaming Mouse Mat Review

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

As any PC gamer knows, the best possible accuracy isn’t just a function of your mouse, and how well it’s configured, but is also heavily dependant upon the right mousing surface. In my case this is particularly important, as a bare, glass desk isn’t the best of friends with gaming mice. A good mousing surface […]

Our man in… Eurogamer Expo 2010

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

by Johnus Maximus It hardly seems a year since my last foray into the exciting and glamorous world of games conventions, but once again the annual Eurogamer Expo had returned, for this their third year. This time they abandoned the north/south dual-expo idea and instead went for a larger and longer event in our nations […]

SteelSeries Xai Gaming Mouse Review

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

I made no secret about my love for the SteelSeries Ikari Laser mouse, it was a great performer and had an interesting ergonomic that worked in both my left and right hand, despite being sculpted for the right. SteelSeries have broken the mould, however, and produced the Xai. A mouse that is to the Ikari […]
