DivX and TV out on a feature phone? Shhh it’s a secret.

The actually quite pretty LG Secret (LG do make pretty phones, and pretty boxes, too) has a few tricks up its sleeve that are barely mentioned on mobile provider websites.

Namely, it does TV out. And not only that but it has an internal, hardware DivX decoder meaning you can throw a reasonable array of DivX content at it AND play it all through your television iPod-style.

Alas, the TV out is composite only, making getting a decent picture onto a modern HDTV somewhat tricky. But for carrying around the odd video and playing it on a friends tellybox the LG Secret does the trick.

It may just be a feature phone, but it’s a feature phone with… well… some unique and somewhat useful features for once! And now it’s free on all but the most humble of tariffs it’s definitely worth considering.
