New NWZ-A820 Video Walkman

What’s the plural for Walkman? Walkmen? I digress. Sony have announced the new big-screened, big battery life NWZ-A820 (That’s a mouthful!) series Walkman loaded up with Bluetooth goodness for wireless music.

The battery life apprently allows up to 10 hours of video playback or 36 hours of uninterrupted music playback. And even with Bluetooth stereo enabled, playback stretches to 7 hours of video or 15 hours of music.

The players are available for pre-order now at sonystyle-europe.com

Ironically the NWZ-A820 series, despite touting Bluetooth audio capability, don’t all come with any bluetooth enabled headphones opting instead for the traditional cheap-and-cheerful earbuds which you’ll want to toss out and replace with some real headphones as soon as possible. Whether these are wireless or not is your choice, but for the sake of removing one single little wire I don’t think more than halving the battery life is worth it. The NWZ-A826K (4GB) and NWZ-A828K (8GB), however, come supplied with Sony’s DR-BT21G Bluetooth headphones.
