Warwick Streamer LX LTD 2008 4 And 5 String Basses

June 13th, 2008

Warwicks annual limited edition bass model has arrived and this year it’s set to be the undeniably gorgeous envy of bass players the world over.

The humble sounding Warwick Streamer LX LTD 2008 boasts an impressive real-wood aesthetic with an exotic madrona burl top and matching burl pickup covers complemented by a swamp ash body that sports elegant “sandwich” ekanga-walnut-ekanga stripes, giving it a look reminiscent of a rally-stripe.

June 12th, 2008

From time to time you might catch yourself wondering why you can’t use the Wifi in your Windows Mobile phone to share your data connection to other Wifi enabled devices… or maybe you haven’t.

Anyway; WmWifiRouter lets you do just that, and it makes it quick, easy and simple.

Acer Launch The P5260i Professional Wireless Projector

June 12th, 2008

Many people who have used projectors are intimately familiar with just what a pain it can be to hook them up to the video source. The office where I work is a prime example, opting to shove an ungainly mass of wires between desks to try and keep them under control.

It’s not surprising, then, that there would be a market for wireless projection just as there is a slowly growing market for wireless surround speakers in home cinema setups.

LIMS: Roland Add “Juno Stage” To Juno Lineup

June 12th, 2008

Roland have announced that 76-keys of Juno Stage goodness will be available this August. If you’ve ever read my coverage of the lesser Juno-D you will know this is set to be a solid product at a reasonably affordable price.

A couple of interesting features are the inclusion of an 88-note multi-sampled piano and support for the SRX boards left over by upgrades from the Fantom X to G series.

You’ll be pleased to know that the Juno Stage specifications are already covered in detail by Roland’s website.

June 12th, 2008

The next in the GW series of workstations from Roland is set to arrive this september. The Roland GW-8 will deliver one-man-band performance power in a compact 61-key form factor that weighs in at a compartively feather-light 6kg.

Full specifications and juicy details on the GW8 are already available at Roland’s website so I will not repeat them here. Enjoy!

Gadgetoid Meets Nokia N810

June 11th, 2008

I’ve ignored the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet thus far, historically dismissing it as a me-too offering from Nokia thrown out there to contend with the Windows Mobile crowd.

How wrong I was. The N810 is a prince amongst gadgets, boasting one of the most impressive displays I’ve ever seen for something of its size. It’s backed up by a small development community who produce intriguing software for its linux-based operating system. More importantly; it’s definitely not a phone and currently doesn’t boast any phone-like data connection features, instead relying on Wifi or Bluetooth to get its internet fix. This means that the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet makes a great companion to a data enabled phone; in my case that’s the HTC Kaiser/MDA Vario 3.

Acer Announce Audacious Aspire One

June 10th, 2008

Okay, so perhaps it’s not that audacious but it’s certainly got looks on its side compared to the competition so far. The Aspire One is Acer’s first entry into the exploding new Netbook market and sports, unsurprisingly, the Intel Atom processor that allows it to run cool, quiet and with minimal power requirements. If it hits at the touted £200 price tag for the lowest spec Linux version then it could easily be labelled an Eee PC killer. “Aspire One” is an awful lot less painful to type, for starters.

Gamestation Selling Wii-Fit In Bundles Only

June 10th, 2008

It seems that Gamestation have opted to stop selling Wii fit on its own and instead are offering it in a couple of bundles priced at about £250 and £280. Both bundles also contain an SD card and the latter also includes a Wii game of your choice. They’re not bad, but existing Wii owners will have to get their Wii Fit fix elsewhere.

Whether this choice is down to availability or simply just an attempt to make an extra buck or two is unknown, but I have a feeling it’s the latter.

Never Be Late With The Neverlate Executive Alarm Clock

June 10th, 2008

The Neverlate boasts an alarming (sorry!) 21 individually customisable alarms each of which can be assigned to a different radio station. That’s 7 daily alarms for you, 7 for your partner and, presumably, 7 additional ones to finally wake you up after you’ve ignored the other two each morning. I think this more than justifies the name “Neverlate” and possibly even “Nevergetanysleepeveragain”.
