Acer Announce Audacious Aspire One

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

Okay, so perhaps it’s not that audacious but it’s certainly got looks on its side compared to the competition so far. The Aspire One is Acer’s first entry into the exploding new Netbook market and sports, unsurprisingly, the Intel Atom processor that allows it to run cool, quiet and with minimal power requirements. If it hits at the touted £200 price tag for the lowest spec Linux version then it could easily be labelled an Eee PC killer. “Aspire One” is an awful lot less painful to type, for starters.

Gamestation Selling Wii-Fit In Bundles Only

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

It seems that Gamestation have opted to stop selling Wii fit on its own and instead are offering it in a couple of bundles priced at about £250 and £280. Both bundles also contain an SD card and the latter also includes a Wii game of your choice. They’re not bad, but existing Wii owners will have to get their Wii Fit fix elsewhere.

Whether this choice is down to availability or simply just an attempt to make an extra buck or two is unknown, but I have a feeling it’s the latter.

Sega Superstars Tennis - Xbox 360

Sega Superstars Tennis Box ArtReview by Johnus Maximus

Released mid-March 2008, Sega Superstars Tennis, developed by Sumo Digital and published by Sega, tries to put a new spin on the traditional tennis game by playing it with classic Sega characters.

Available on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2 and DS, Sega Superstars Tennis is a vibrant and interesting attempt at a crossover which although looks fantastic, doesn’t really deliver a satisfying experience and fails massively to capitalise on the range of popular franchises in Sega’s history.

Or Wii-er-ly Ill!

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Well, I lost weight! I wish I could say it was through 4 days of solid Wii Fit training but the day missing from the graph was, inevitably, the pinnacle of my battle with the aforementioned virus which struck the day before and is still lingering.

At least the Wii Board brings boring old bathroom scales into the 21st century.

Soon I’ll be Wii-er-ly Fit

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

Well, it’s a dull rainy day today and we’ve all come down with a not-so-lovely vomiting virus or at least our fairer halves have; for now.

After a Friday evening playing Rock Band until the early hours of the morning followed by a day of downtime, a little Wii Fit and a smattering of World of Warcraft I’ve found the time to spend an entire morning mastering the more mini-game aspects of Wii Fit. Mostly by cheating horribly.

Casio Wave Ceptor (WVQ-570DBE-1AVER) Radio Set Watch

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

In this review I will be looking at the WVQ-570DBE-1AVER from the Casio Wave Ceptor range. Alas Casio have neglected to give any of their extensive watch range catchy monikers so I will simply refer to WVQ-570DBE-1AVER as the Casio Wave Ceptor henceforth.
