Age of Conan Limited Edition Keyset for Zboard

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

The Zboard has been around for a while now and although it may not be suitable for most gamers it really does highlight and make accessible a range of key bindings that you would normally overlook in complex RTS and RPG titles.

It’s good news, then, for Age of Conan gamers that there will be a “limited edition” keyset for the Zboard aimed at demystifying the controls of this shiny new RPG and stepping up your game.

The Incredible Hulk Xbox 360 box art

Review by Johnus Maximus

Hot on the heels of the cinematic release of Marvel Studios latest summer blockbuster comes the action packed video game The Incredible Hulk, developed by Edge of Reality and published by Sega, available on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC, PS2 and Nintendo DS.

The game sees you take control of the fierce destructive powers of the gamma-radiated wall of green muscle as he smashes, crashes and indiscriminately destroys his way round a sandbox version of Manhattan in this entertaining, yet short game.

Gamestation Selling Wii-Fit In Bundles Only

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

It seems that Gamestation have opted to stop selling Wii fit on its own and instead are offering it in a couple of bundles priced at about £250 and £280. Both bundles also contain an SD card and the latter also includes a Wii game of your choice. They’re not bad, but existing Wii owners will have to get their Wii Fit fix elsewhere.

Whether this choice is down to availability or simply just an attempt to make an extra buck or two is unknown, but I have a feeling it’s the latter.

Sega Superstars Tennis - Xbox 360

Sega Superstars Tennis Box ArtReview by Johnus Maximus

Released mid-March 2008, Sega Superstars Tennis, developed by Sumo Digital and published by Sega, tries to put a new spin on the traditional tennis game by playing it with classic Sega characters.

Available on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2 and DS, Sega Superstars Tennis is a vibrant and interesting attempt at a crossover which although looks fantastic, doesn’t really deliver a satisfying experience and fails massively to capitalise on the range of popular franchises in Sega’s history.

Viking: Battle for Asgard - Xbox 360

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

Review by Johnus Maximus

Viking box art 360Released at the end of March 2008, Viking: Battle for Asgard, developed by The Creative Assembly and published by Sega, is a third person perspective sandbox style hack’n’slash adventure game where you play as a Skarin, a tough and recently resurrected viking warrior whose mission is to liberate his captured kinsmen and destroy the vast legion forces of the goddess Hel.

Available on both Xbox 360 and PS3, Viking offers very simplistic game play, immense battles and is rated 18+ for the sheer amount of graphical violence depicted on screen, don’t let that put you off though, because this game is brilliant!

Or Wii-er-ly Ill!

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Well, I lost weight! I wish I could say it was through 4 days of solid Wii Fit training but the day missing from the graph was, inevitably, the pinnacle of my battle with the aforementioned virus which struck the day before and is still lingering.

At least the Wii Board brings boring old bathroom scales into the 21st century.

Soon I’ll be Wii-er-ly Fit

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

Well, it’s a dull rainy day today and we’ve all come down with a not-so-lovely vomiting virus or at least our fairer halves have; for now.

After a Friday evening playing Rock Band until the early hours of the morning followed by a day of downtime, a little Wii Fit and a smattering of World of Warcraft I’ve found the time to spend an entire morning mastering the more mini-game aspects of Wii Fit. Mostly by cheating horribly.

Xbox 360 Price Reduction Doubles Sales

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Who could have seen this one coming!? Microsoft announced today that their recent price adjustment has significantly increased the sales volume of their little-white-console-that-could; the Xbox 360. Now for the love of god and all that is holy Microsoft, please produce a version of the Xbox 360 that doesn’t look embarrassingly like a squashed marshmallow… some of us 360 owners ARE more than 10 years old.
