TrekPod Goes XL

I posted a brief bit of coverage on the TrekPod Hiking Staff cum Tripod back in June of 2008 (Wow, it’s really 2009 now!).

It was clearly a solid product in both build and performance because JP Distribution have followed up and brought the Trek-Tech TrekPod XL to the UK.

Weighing in at a paltry 600g the TrekPod XL is a height adjustable, carbon fibre monopod, tripod and hiking staff all in one.

To make things convenient whilst on the move it also includes the MagMount Pro quick-release camera mounting system with an anti-rotation locking feature to keep your camera steady once a shot is lined up.

For transport the TrekPod pro will break up into four components and fit into a supplied carry case. As a tripod it will telescope down to 99cm and adjusts between 106.7cm and 158.8cm in its hiking staff and monopod modes.

The whole kit costs £279.99 and the MagMount Pro can be purchased separately for £74.99, you can contact Johnsons Photopia for a price list.
