HTC Touch Pro Hits Expansys At £519
The wait is over for those of you who survived the fierce temptation of the iPhone 3g. I didn’t and I find my excitement for the HTC Touch Pro somewhat mitigated as a result, but none-the-less it’s a fanastic example of a Windows Mobile Phone with more oomph than you’ll ever need and more features than you’ll ever find the time to use; I wouldn’t say no to a free one!
The VGA screen and 512mb ROM are decidedly tasty features but at this price I can’t help but lament the lack of 8gb or 16gb flash storage built-in, in addition to the SD slot.
HTC have continued to raise the bar for Windows Mobile powered phones with their sexy TouchFLO UI, but alas it still pales in comparison to the responsiveness of the iPhone. I will be endeavouring to produce a full review of the Touch Pro when I can get hold of one, Windows Mobile fans rest assured that the iPhone will not factor in to any comparisons and the HTC Touch Pro will be rated by its performance as a Windows Mobile Phone. You can no more compare an iPhone to a WM phone than you can compare a WM phone to a generic feature phone.
