“Cubo” DAB/FM Radio with CD/MP3 Player

The Cubo, designed and crafted in Germany, brings CD/MP3 playing and DAB/FM radio in a compact, space-saving and mobile package that you can easily place on a kitchen counter.

The Cubo is available in quite an impressive 10 different finishes; 7 high gloss colours in addition to cherry, maple and walnut natural wood finishes.

It has to be said that this is one of the more attractive DAB radios I’ve laid eyes upon and the 10 different finishes only serve to make it attractive for a great deal of people. However this stylish package will be priced at an estimated £269 making it a high-end lifestyle item.

Unfortunately the Cubo only boasts support for 6 preset radio stations, this is probably more than enough for the average listener but the recently announced Dualit boasts 20 presets. Another niggling doubt is in the mp3 playing functionality; it’s not specified whether or not it actually supports playing mp3 CDs or if this functionality is just a reference to the 3.5mm audio input you can use with external mp3 players.

In its favour the Cubo has a 3.5mm audio input so that you can use its external speaker with mp3 players, a dim-able soft back-lit display, and an alarm clock with snooze functionality. No iPod dock though?
